12 Months Of Welcome And Counting

Just a couple of weeks ago, on June 19, we celebrated our first full year of operation. Time sure flies!

The below is excerpted from our Father’s Day letter:

… We are filled with gratitude for our community’s support of this endeavor and all we have been able to do over the past 12 months. The ministry our founders envisioned – and that our supporters have made possible – is bearing fruit! Since our last update in November, we have remained at full capacity and to
date we have welcomed more than 40 guests to our home on Julius Street.

We have helped guide 17 men to employment and safe housing and our guests have volunteered over 300 hours with local nonprofits. Our guest services support team continues to staff our shelter and home around the clock. Led by Interim Director Chris Brown (who stepped down from the board to fill this role), they help with guest intake and daily activities and oversee community projects. They mentor, encourage and inspire – and we are grateful!

The Well provides welcome, encouragement and support to men seeking a new way of life.
Like Jeremy, who was able to save 30% of his income while at The Well, enabling him to obtain a home for his wife and children. And Chris, who not only found a sense of purpose, employment and housing for himself but has helped mentor and inspire other guests. Like ripples in a pond, each milestone met and goal achieved expands each guest’s potential and positively impacts those around them. It is truly incredible to witness.
